2025–2026 · Sound drift through the city; radio piece at the 19th Tsonami Sound Art Festival · Eight portable radios wired in parallel to a solar panel, belt-type support, portable audio recorder and ambient microphone · Felipe Zegers

Radio Solar (Solar Radio) is a sound drift made with a belt of eight portable radios wired in parallel to a single solar panel. The system depends directly on the sun: changes in light alter the panel’s voltage, and the radios switch on, switch off or distort.

Walking through the city, the device picks up and mixes radio waves and the sounds around it (footsteps, engines, horns, voices) in real time, creating a shifting landscape that turns the atmosphere into sound.

The work proposes an expanded listening of the urban environment, where weather, solar radiation and electromagnetic frequencies intertwine, revealing the interdependence of energy, technology and the city.
